When my second son R came along, I decided to make the theme of his room Dr. Seuss. So, I was so excited when Robert Kaufmann came out with a line of Dr. Seuss fabric. My grandmother and I ordered it right away, and we’ve finally started on a quilt for him.
I got to work on it yesterday, and it’s so cute! It’s been so long since I’ve just cut and pieced a quilt together it was kind of therapeutic in it’s repetitiveness. The pattern is well written and easy and looks great with the fabrics. When I go back to my grandmother’s I’ll let you know who’s pattern it is, because I can’t remember right now!
The blue fabric will be the border, and we have a rainbow stripe we’re going to cut on the bias for the binding and blue Cat in the Hat fabric for the backing. I can’t wait to keep going on this one, I think he’s going to love it!
Today is so rainy and nasty looking here, the boys and I are going down to the studio and I’m going to work some more on my other quilt, hopefully appliqueing some of it down! I’m looking forward to that one.
