I will confess I am a Pinterest addict. I’ve been on Pinterest since you had to be invited…and to a girl like me that has folders upon folders of stuff on her computer she saved from the internet in the days before Pinterest, I took to it quickly. I love to Pin things. I Pin when I cruise the internet, and I Pin when I cruise Pinterest. I can do this for HOURS. I am not nearly as bad as I once was, but checking Pinterest is definitely something I do on a daily basis.
What in the world for, you ask? All kinds of things!! First and foremost we have the Food Board. I Pin anything and everything that looks yummy. Then, when I have a “I have a pretty well stocked pantry but don’t know what to cook” night, I can peruse my Food Board to choose a new dish for dinner, breakfast, you name it! My current favorite Pinterest recipe is for Buffalo Chicken Casserole…
I Pin things for my house, decoration and organization ideas for when I get that bug, as well as fashion. Because a Southern girl has to look good ya’ll. I mean, I can’t just run to the store in yoga pants and a camo fleece. I mean, I’m not saying I have (cough, cough)….but it’s nice to put on “real pants” as my hubby calls them. I’ve successfully pulled off several outfits I recreated straight off of Pinterest. I am not a risk taker when it comes to fashion, I tend to stick to the classics with a little pop thrown in there. And I do *try* to stick to the “no yoga pants outside the house unless going to the gym” rule, but sometimes I slip. Denim on denim is an outfit that I have pulled off recently with compliments! (I was proud of that one.)
However, the two things I use Pinterest for the most right now are party planning and inspiration for projects. When Mom and I threw baby showers and wedding showers last year, I immediately hopped on Pinterest when we decided a theme. I googled “Beatrix Potter” and everything relating to Beatrix Potter and baby showers, and pinned everything I loved. We came up with adorable decorations this way! You can check it out on this post here.
When I have a new project, I will search high and low for inspiration. Right now, I’m working on logos for a cousin’s store and salon, and before I began, I combed Pinterest and the internet for any and all things that would relate to them. Pinterest for me is like creating a mood board online. It really reminds me of making collages in my high school sketchbook! I love looking at the boards I’ve created when I go to start a new project, be it a new artistic project or an organization project for my house.
What do you use Pinterest for? And if you’re not already, follow me on Pinterest. I love seeing new faces and ideas on there!
