Things that inspire me this week:
Have you heard of Alt? It’s this amazing conference held for creative bloggers. They have two (possibly three!), one in Salt Lake City and one in New York. I’ve been reading all about the amazing conference in Salt Lake City, the advice these women have gotten, the inspiration, and the friendships they have made. I’m trying to soak everything in secondhand, and I’m definitely putting attending an Alt Summit on my goal list. It makes me want to be a better blogger and businesswoman, and not be a disorganized mess in the process! If you have a minute, go check out their website. They have an awesome blog as well!
Stacks of fabric! I got to visit one of my local quilt shops this week, and I came home with some lovely new fabrics as well as some new thread. Nothing like a stop in a quilt store to inspire new projects and see all the lovely new fabric.
I’m in the process of re-designing this blog, (launch will happen later this year!) and in the process I’m really trying to narrow my image. This process has led to a lot of re-structuring of workspaces. I just cleaned off my desk to give me more space to draw as well as work on the computer, and since I work upstairs in the kitchen on the computer instead of down in my studio, I felt like I needed a little inspirational something to sit on my desk. This dish with the vintage buttons and spools makes me smile every time I see it.
I have just started my first class at Nicole’s Classes, in the program InDesign. I just started Monday, and am about halfway through this week’s assignment and video. I’ve already learned so much, I can’t wait to share my projects with all of you at the end of the class! If you have ever wanted to take classes about photography, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Floral Arrangement, and lots of other creative things, this is for you! I can’t wait to start laying out some quilt patterns for all of you!
Right now, my biggest inspirations are my little guys.
They are at the age where their imaginations are really getting going. They love making messes with me, coloring and playing with PlayDoh. And cooking! They love to help me cook, which I love. I’m constantly kept on my toes by the two of them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
What’s inspiring you this week?
